He is fondly referred to as “The Guru of Gurus” as he has trained a large number of retina surgeons who are now working on senior faculty positions across the globe, and his word is considered final while treating difficult cases. Dr Pawan Prasher is Associate Director of Amritsar Eye Hospital, and Professor of Ophthalmology at SGRD Medical College, Amritsar. After completion of residency in Ophthalmology, he did a fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery from University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (USA); and a fellowship in Ocular Pathology from Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California, Los Angeles (USA).
